Part one
I have 3 best friends right now. We call ourselves the WMWC (World's Most Wanted Crew) Vanessa and Winnie are chinese while Afiqah is a malay. Why? I dont really think that race really matters. Its how we get along and the same interests we share that matters.
Part two
1) Character! To me, a person's character really matters alot. For example, I cannot possibly be good friends with a person who do not share the same interest as me or we simply just do not click at all. I do not care about what they've been through or what they once were. All that matters to me is how they are now and how their character is like right now.
2) Circumstances! Classmates, groupmate, cca-mate. It matters as I treat people differently if I get to know them through a different way. For example, if I go to talk to the cheerleaders, I will talk about totally different things and behave differently as to when I talk to my classmates. I am not being hypocritical. Its just that, the way we have bonded with them is different. Do you get it? Nevermind. Hah.
3) Age! It will be easier for us to click off with people who are of the same age with us but there is no rule that restricts us from being friends who are older or younger from us. By all means, expand your friendship circle man! (:
4) Gender! I dont really think that it really matters if the person is a guy or a girl. For me, I am not a sexist. Heh. I have alot of guy and girl friends. So, gender does not matter.
5) Race! Race seriously does not matter. I dont care if my friends are malay, chinese or indians. I treat them the same. They are still human beings. Just treat them the way you want to be treated. Do not be racist. Nobody likes a racist. Agree 2e2? =D
Part three
Honestly, I must say that Racial Harmony only served its purpose to some people. I mean seriously, majority only likes Racial Harmony Day as they get to have long breaks, get out of lessons earlier, wear pretty clothes or see the guy you like wear pretty clothes or vice versa. For me, it doesn't really serve its purpose. Yes, we get 'educated' about other races and all but frankly, we don't really care do we? Look at all the guilty faces! (:
