Journal Writing 2- Norlyana! (:
I have 3 best friends right now. We call ourselves the WMWC (World's Most Wanted Crew) Vanessa and Winnie are chinese while Afiqah is a malay. Why? I dont really think that race really matters. Its how we get along and the same interests we share that matters.
Part two
1) Character! To me, a person's character really matters alot. For example, I cannot possibly be good friends with a person who do not share the same interest as me or we simply just do not click at all. I do not care about what they've been through or what they once were. All that matters to me is how they are now and how their character is like right now.
2) Circumstances! Classmates, groupmate, cca-mate. It matters as I treat people differently if I get to know them through a different way. For example, if I go to talk to the cheerleaders, I will talk about totally different things and behave differently as to when I talk to my classmates. I am not being hypocritical. Its just that, the way we have bonded with them is different. Do you get it? Nevermind. Hah.
3) Age! It will be easier for us to click off with people who are of the same age with us but there is no rule that restricts us from being friends who are older or younger from us. By all means, expand your friendship circle man! (:
4) Gender! I dont really think that it really matters if the person is a guy or a girl. For me, I am not a sexist. Heh. I have alot of guy and girl friends. So, gender does not matter.
5) Race! Race seriously does not matter. I dont care if my friends are malay, chinese or indians. I treat them the same. They are still human beings. Just treat them the way you want to be treated. Do not be racist. Nobody likes a racist. Agree 2e2? =D
Part three
Honestly, I must say that Racial Harmony only served its purpose to some people. I mean seriously, majority only likes Racial Harmony Day as they get to have long breaks, get out of lessons earlier, wear pretty clothes or see the guy you like wear pretty clothes or vice versa. For me, it doesn't really serve its purpose. Yes, we get 'educated' about other races and all but frankly, we don't really care do we? Look at all the guilty faces! (:
Journal Writing 2 - bEnEdicT™ :)
Actually I have many best friends in life. There are many races and from different religion. They are not from the same races as me because everyone must help each other. We cannot mainly have the same races of friends.Because I believe that karma will happen. Next time maybe I would not even have a single friend.haha. That will be worst then ever.
Part 2
1.Character
2.Circumstances
3.Age
4.Gender
5.Races
1.Character
I think this is the most important factor because we must have friends with good character. We cannot go out with people who have bad character.Who wan to have a "useless" friend. Freeloader? NONONO i would not want a friend like this.1 who always action? No to him.
2.Circumstances
Why must we have friends in only school? We must make friends outside. We must have a wider range or communication. If we go out without friends people will say that 'eerrrh that loner'. Maybe some people will like that but for me I don't.
3.Age
Must we make friends with only our age? No. If we do not know how to do a sum (example) then all my classmate don't know we need other older people to help me.
4.Gender
I do not think that we need to have a same gender friends. If so then the class will be very quiet. Boys will whisper same for the girls. When we grow up if people keep seeing you following a group of boys they might say you are a gay.
5.Races
Friendship can be found in any race. RACES DO NOT MATTER!!!!! We must have a wider range of contacts as i mention.Sometimes good advices are come from other races.
Part 3 (finally)
Yes, i think Racial Harmony served its purpose. As it is when , when all the races come together to serve the purpose. It helps us to know more about other races.(Example) the food they eat and what are the traditional dresses. I have know alot more about malay from racial harmony so I think it serve the purpose.
(Sorry if I wrote a lousy journal hahaha)

RACIAL HARMONY- ESTHER.
Well, they are practically who ever you think my best friends are! If you think my best friend is _____,(Fill in the blank) so shall _____(Answer should be same as first) be my best friend!
Are they of the same race as me?
No they aren't, they are dini, shafiqah, afiq? Haha. Ok, this is some I can think of. Obviously, I'm friends with Dini cos she's next to me, duh.
1.Age
2.Character
3.Circumstances
4.Race
5.Gender
AGE
I say this is most important because I FEEL this way. People that are older than me by like 10 or 20 years or so most probably won't get along with me cos I don't normally get along with them as well.
CHARACTER
They're character must be good cos I said so. No, haha, I'm only joking. Well, I say that Character is second important because with a friend with a bad character really would annoy you and influence you and later you become like them which is obviously, bad.
CIRCUMSTANCES
I don't mind having a best friend from my CCA, Church, Other classes. As long as we both get along well, there ain't have any circumstance that can stop us from being best friends yeah?
RACE
I say race is second least important cos that how I feel, why do I feel this way. I really do not know how to explain ( seriously).
GENDER
Male or Female, I think Gender is the least important. I do not mind having a best friend as a guy. Neither do I mind having a best friend as a girl. Both genders are equal to me, I'm not a sexists!
Has Racial Harmony served its purpose?
Yes and No.
Yes: We really enjoy the activities we do and I gotta admit it is pretty fun and I really learn alot. I also get to know people much more through this kinda activities. I guess the rest have already said and explained about what good it has. LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT THE BAD!
No: We get bored of it, peace among races, harmony, religious harmony, knowing other culture, we ARE bored man. Come out with something new!
BUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH
Journal Writing 2 - Cheng Si Yi ><
Part One
Who are your best friends in life?
Well, you can say that i have none. Even thought sometimes i treated someone else as my best friend, they do not regard me as one. Thus, I have none. However, i do have some friends quite close to me in class. Also, I trust that I will find my best friend someday, in the future.
Are they the same race as you?
Are they the same race? For best friend, it's in the future thus I am not sure. But, my current friends are definitely not the same race as me. Both of them were Malay. There were also a few friends which are the same race as me, Chinese. However, I am more closer to my Malay friends.
If they are, why so?
Sometimes, races doesn't count. So what if we speak different languages? We can still communicate in English! Student have been educated in schools to be racial harmony. If we do not like each other's races, it would be called raciest and it will be very hard to communicate when you hate someone's race. So why not make your own life easier? By making friends with other races, there will be a lot of benefits.
Part Two
Gender - 3
For my own personal thinking, i prefer having the same gender as me as we can talk along more well. However, if we sides too much to our own gender, it will cause us to have an anti-feeling towards the other gender. This may cause a side effect when we become adults. Thus, it is important that we communicate to both genders well but if i would prefer, i would stay closer to my own gender, IF possible.
Age - 4
Age is quite important as generation gap occurs. Sometimes, having to know a person older than you could be bad. As we were talking about modern things like mp3, mp4 or more new technologies, our old friend may not know much about it. It will also be easy to have conflict happening between us as we had a different thinking. Also, if a person is younger than ourselves, it will also be very hard to communicate as they may not understand what you are talking about. Thus, age is VERY IMPORTANT. For me, i prefer friends which are 3 yrs younger or older than me. Then, the things we talk about would be quite alike.
Race - 0 or 1?
I very much wanted to put 0 as it DOES NOT REALLY MATTER! That's my view. As long as we could communicate, race doesn't matter to me. I accept every type of races. Having different types of main language will not affect our communication towards each other.
Character - 5
-.-ll Character sure is the most important point of it all. You do not like to go out with a person that you totally hate his/her character, correct? The person's character reveals himself/herself and brings out the him/her inside themselves. Having a bad charactered friend may cause a lot of troubles as you cannot communicate with him/her well. Both of us will have very different thinkings thus may cause sparks in between us. If you met a friend you can make with a good character, it will be of good news as both of you could communicate well and even like each other's way of thinking.
Circumstances - 3
Er, i think it's reasonable? Cause we can communicate anytime, anywhere using hand phones or via emails. It can be easy to communicate to friends. But, places like underground tunnels may cause you to lose contact with your friend. So, it is also quite important.
Part three
Oh my gosh.. finally going to end.. ^^ i don't know if it's relevant or not.. >
I would say yes. If schools did not educate students in racial harmony, there may be racist wars starting all over in Singapore and other countries. Racial harmony's purpose is very important for the peace for the whole world. It made almost all the countries avoid raciest riots and other demolishes that may occur when that happens. The Racial harmony now days are celebrated, to remind us not to be raciest and communicate well with other races. it also gives us opportunities to learn more about another race' cultures and we can also introduce to other races our own culture.

Journal Writing 2 - Celeste Yeo :D
I have many best friends in life. They are all in different races like Chinese, Malay and Indian. I believe that we do not judge a person by his/her race but by character. If you trust them and they trust you, these is called best friends. Best friends are friends that you share your relationship closest with, and not about their race. But then, I have a higher percentage of Chinese friends than Malay or Indian.
Part Two
1. Character
2. Circumstances
3. Age
4. Gender
5. Race
1. Character
Character is mostly about your personality. A good character will reflect the best upon yourself. For me, I judge a person by his/her character more because it is the main and most important thing of all. A good character will benefit you because people will like you and would want to make friends with you.
2. Circumstances
Another important thing to notify is the people you are with. Your classmates, schoolmates, CCA friends. If you are indirectly or directly connected to them in one way or another, it would be most likely that you will get to know them and maybe make friends with them. In all this things, teamwork and co-oporation is mostly needed to complete a task successfully. If you are doing group work or a project, your friends who are in the same group as you will have to co-operate with you well in order to complete the task. So teamwork is very important. Without teamwork, nothing will be accomplished.
3. Age
I believe that I will communicate better with the people at my age. I think that people at my age will have the same common thinking as me as from people from the different age as me. We have to choose appropriately for the age groups we choose to communicate with to share your thoughts with them. It is important if you want to pour all your feelings to a friend, you must make sure that are able to understand you and give you the correct answer. But of course, sometimes, you will definitely need a person at an older age to tell you what is the correct path to take because sometimes they have more experiences than us. Past experience and lessons learnt are very vital.
4. Gender
For me, the gender does not really matter in communication. Whether you are talking to a male or a female, they will sometimes have the same kind of thinking as you in one way or another. We have to mix around with the genders sometimes to understand more and communicate more with each other. This also helps you to understand more about someone. Sometimes, being with different genders of yours might also be interesting because you will be experiencing things that did not happen to you before and it might be fun too.
5. Race
I think that we should mix around with people of different races. Especially when you are leaving in a country like Singapore. I don't really care about the different races of friends that I'm mixing with as long as I have fun. Even with a different skin colour, we sometimes also understand each other and we work with one another well. I would really want to have a circle of friends of different races. It would be interesting to learn about their races and cultures.
Part 3
I think Racial Harmony is very important and its needed in a small country like singapore. You have different races and you will get to experience Racial Harmony, where you can learn about the different races and cultures they practice. Its important to Singapore that we get to know all the races so that we can work together and create a better future for our country. We are all people so it does not matter about the races, the skin colour, or the language we speak. Its the common goal that we are all working on.
DONE! Finally lah :D
Journal Writing 2 - Shafiqah Nurul
Part One
Who are your best friends in life?
My best friends are usually people I enjoy being with, and people who I can interact with very well. I have a best friend since 10, and we are still together and best friends until now. Although she is not in the same secondary school as me, we always talk in the phone and chat using the Internet. We always get trouble after communicating for so long XD My best friends in secondary school are very complicated. It is not that I don't have any, but I do not know who are my best friends, and who are not. Basically, everyone who I hang out with most of the time can be considered my best friend =).
Are they of the same race as you?
Some are the same race as me and some are not. Race does not mean you are mean, envious or happy. What is more important is your character and who you are inside. Your skin colour certainly does not mean you're more of a straightforward person, or any of your character. Same goes for your race. Character shines through more than what you look like. I do not have any liking in any race, I believe every race has different types of people and thus different character. ^^
If they are, why so?
I agree that having the same race means you get to communicate better, but it does not mean the relationship you have with that person is better because of your race. That is being very bias and an obvious racist act.
Part Two
Rank the following factors on their importance in your friendship with a person. 1 being most important, 5 being least. After each choice, give a brief explanation of how the factor is important.
gender - 3
Gender is indeed very important as you cannot talk to boys about good looking guys and about your crush. It's pretty much in the middle because sometimes relationships can work with a person with an opposite gender, but sometimes things don't work. It depends on their perspective of the situation.
age - 4
Age is also important as it gives better communication. Although it is not the most important characteristic in someone, age is quite an important matter. Age similarity has a lot of advantages. You can understand the person a lot better and will have no difficulties opening up to that person whereas is there's an age gap, you may feel a bit uncomfortable.
race - 1
Race is the least important criteria because your race does not mean anything other than your mother tongue language or how you look like. In my opinion, race sometimes bring very troublesome issues such as racism. We should not see someone with their race, but instead who they are. In other words, character.
character - 5
Character really brings out the person in you. Character is certainly most important because if your character is such as being insensitive and cruel, no one will want to be your friend and will be hated by many. You should learn to care for other's feelings and be fair to everyone, hence having a good character. A good character is essential for making friends and getting a job. No one will want to hire a bad-character person.
circumstances (eg. classmate, groupmate, cca-mate) - 2
I think circumstances is not important as now you have high technological devices such as handphones, online chatting and emails. Even though your friend is miles or countries away from you, you can still communicate with that person easily. Although circumstances is not such an important criteria, it certainly makes things easier for the relationship to grow because it is very easy to communicate and you do not have to switch the internet connection on to talk, you could just approach the person for a talk.
Part Three
Do you think Racial Harmony Day has served its purpose?
I think Racial Harmony Day has served its purpose as it reminds others about all the races that is living in the same country as you. Racial Harmony Day also reminds you to appreciate other's races and cultures. Racial Harmony Day definitely tells me other races and cultures are as nice ad mine, and I should try having a day in their culture =)

what a long journal xD
Journal Writing 2 - Thia WeiTing (:
Part One
Well, i have a best friend. She was in the same primary school as me.But too bad, we aren't in the same secondary school.Yep, She is of the same race as me.Actually, the race don't really matters. It matters whether if you can communicate with each other despite of the different races you are in. (:
Part Two
1 Character
2 Circumstances
3 Age
4 Gender
5 Race
Character
I think that character is the most important one.If you have a bad character, would anyone want to make friends with you?You must have a good character to get along with your friends. Right? Thus, i think that Character is the most important one.
Circumstances
I think this is the second most important one.Example, if your best friend is in the different school as you, will you still be able to communicate so often like you were in ur primary school?Unless you can everyday 24hour talk on the phone which is impossible. -.-"'If the friend u are close with is in the same school as you, it'll be easier to communicate. If it's in the same class, it will be great!because you can see him/her during school hour and can share your views whenever you want to.So, circumstances will come in second for me.
Age
Age would be quite important too.If you and your friend's age gap is very big, you sure won't get along with each other well. This is because they'll have the different thinking as you and different views as you.so having a friend that is around ur age will be better as you will most probably have the same thinkings and views. And you can talk about it too.
Gender
Gender don't really matters. Males and Females = Humans. You won't die seating or talking to ur opposite gender. So long we can get along well it'll be okay.
Race
Race is certainly not a big problem. They are all human beings! Moreover, Singapore have 4 different races. If we all do not like some particular race,i think Singapore will fall.
Part Three
Racial Harmony of course had served its purpose! It tells us to stay in harmony regardless of our race and religions. Therefore, we must not be racist!! :DD
TATA :PJornal Writing 2- SERENA SEE [:
We can easily make friends everywhere, anywhere or somewhere!
I don't really have a best friend in life.
Every friends are equal, it will be unfair to treat one so nice while others are like nobody. A best friend doesn't means that he/she will lead you to a right path. A best friend doesn't means that he/she will treat you like a sister or daughter!
Friends should treat each other same, not base on whether he/she is intelligent or famous, just to gain something from him/her.
No matter what, sometimes having a best friend is better than none and most of the time we depend on them when we are not at home. (:
I have friends from different races. Many are the same race as me. [: We dont choose friends from their skin tone. Although we often see chinese mixing around with indian. From primary school till now, i dont have many indian classmates. HAHAHS! (:
Friends of the same race interact better than different races. The way they speak in their language while we speak ours are hard to communicate. (:
PART TWO
1 Character
2 Circumstances
3 Age
4 Gender
5 Race
Character
A person must have a good character in order to make more friends. Who would want to make friends with someone who always scold vulgarities. Looking for friends is not an easy task. The person must not mix with bad company, those always gang-fighting , going for drugs and stuff like that. Character is the most important comes to making friends.
Circumstances
Most friends would confide in each other secret. And friends talk everything under the sun. From waking up in the morning to getting to bed at night. That's friends. If friends of the same class will be better than those from different classes as they will make their own friends in other classes. Friends are those talking to each other for hours and feel that only minutes have pass.
Age
Imagine making friend with a guy age 40. Finding friends around the same age is better. Like that example. She may be working while i will be studying, she and I will have totally different thinking, while i am still at the "growing up" group , she is already at "working/adult" group and definately had experiences much more than me. The way we talk would be different, the way we do things would be different too, she is serious in her work as compare to mine. Even the kind of music would be different too!!! I would actually prefer to make friends someone around my age.
Gender
No matter if the person is a guy or a lady. It doesn't matter unless gay or something like that. If not we have the chance to make more friends, why not? (:
If you have some bad experience with the opposite gender, you must also try to get over it. Everywhere we go, we need to work with guys or ladies. It doesn't makes a different making with a guy or a girl. Girls like barbie dolls while guys likes cars or superman, batman, spiderman, ice man or fireman. (:
Race
Race doesn't matter! The colour of the skin is not the same as the colour of the heart. Seen a RED SKIN person before?
PART THREE
Racial hamony Day indeed serve its purpose. Racial harmony Day has events to make us understand more about others cultures and traditional . We must also learn to respect each other races in order to make PEACE! (:
Journal Writing 2-Ong Shi Hui
Who is your best friend in life?
Frankly speaking i don't have a best friend.Although i have alot of friends around me but i don't have a friend that i can confined with but recently i found a friend that i can confined with and i am veri happy about it.
Although i don't have a best friend now but my friends around me are mostly chinese. I think that races are not important as long as you feel comfortable with one another and you are always happy when you are always with your friends that is the most important things.
Part two
1.)Character
2.)Circumstances
3.)Age
4.)Gender
5.)Races
Character
I think character is very important as you will not want to be friend with someone who is greedy, selfish. If the character of my friend is not good,I will not feel comfortable with him/her.And If your character is good, many people will want to be your friend and many of you friends will trust you.
Circumstances
I think that circumstances is also important as when you are in school especially during secondary school you will need to do alot of project work and most of our time is spend there, if our friend is around , it will make things easier especially when we are in the same group and can do teh work well and successfully as we understand each other well and know how to communicate well and will not have trouble in the work
Age
If the age between our friend is too big we will have diffculty communicate with each other. An example is our pareny. We find it hard to communicate to our parent as our age gap is too big and what we are thinking may not be the se#ame and this apply to friend. When the age group is different , it is hard to communicat unlike those friend that is the same age as us. We found it easier to communicate as we have the same kinds of thinking
Gender
I feel that the gender is not so important as long as we feel comfortable with one another anhd this does not matter if they are boy or girl. But when people see a girl and boy sitting down talking to one another, people will think that they are couple when they are not .
Races
As i have say in part one , race is not important as long as we feel comfortable with one another and can commnuicate with one another.
Part three
Yes, racial harmony had served it purpose . Why do i say so . It is because during racial harmony, we get to learn more about other races culture and becoming more understand of one another culture.
Remenber to treasure you friends well as friends are hard to find especially those who understand you alot!!
Hera a poem to all my friends:Birds fly high hard to catch,Friends like you hard to forget!! :)

Journal Writing 2- VALERIE LOW :D
I have a friend, named Eugenia. She's the best friend a girl could ever have. I knew her since primary 4 from PHPPS. You could simply tell her all your problems and worries, she will always lend you a listening ear. She will always be there to comfort you and to help you through the difficult times. She will never abandon you just because she have some new friends. She's the one you can trust in. She will always be there whenever you need her. You can always count on her. When you're happy, you can share the joy with her. When you're feeling down, she'll always find a way to bring back a smile on your face. She's like my guardian, guarding and guiding me through each and everyday.
She's a Chinese too. It does not matter which race your friends are in. Black or white, Malay or Chinese, does it really matter that much? Friendships are strong and powerful. Different skin colours does not make any difference.
One of the reason, why we're so close, it's maybe because we share common interest. We stay close to each other and we're just.. UNBREAKABLE! Friends like her are really hard to get. Like looking for a pearl in the endless ocean. She's a friend i can never afford to lose.
Part Two
1. Character
2. Circumstances (eg. classmate, groupmate, cca-mate)
3. Gender
4. Age
5. Race
Your character and personalities tells everything. It is the most important thing when it comes to choosing a friend. If you're very greedy, selfish, dishonest and rude. Do you think you will have friends? Friends are there to help you to change your ways and lead you to the right path. Character is very important.
The second point is circumstances. If you're in the same class with your best friend, things will be much easier! You can communicate more conveniently and quickly. In class, projectwork or even CCAs, all of us must work together to achieve for the best. We may be working together even in the future! So, circumstances is very important too.
Gender. It makes quite a difference. As teenagers now, they love to gossip, which of course lead to misunderstandings. If you see a guy and a girl sitting together, you might think that they are boyfriend and girlfriend, that's why some people do not really dare to approach the oppsite sex. But it's alright, the misunderstandings will soon be cleared.
Age? People of different ages may find abit more difficult to communicate. Example: You and your parents might not be able to communicate as well as with your friends as teenagers and adults have different point of view or opinions. When people talk about topics like love and school, would you rather talk to a 50 year old auntie than a 14 year old teenager? People of same age group tend to communicate easier and think mostly the same.
Race. As i stated above. It does not matters what skin colour you are. Friends are friends, you do not judge people by their appearances. As the saying goes, "Do not judge the book by its cover." . We should never insult or criticize people who are different from us, instead, we should respect and learn from them.
Part Three
Do you think Racial Harmony Day has served its purpose?
Yes. Racial harmony is a day where people of different races come together and celebrate. To know more about each other's culture and religion. As you know, Singapore is a multi-racial country. Without racial harmony, Singapore may not be as peaceful as now. Singapore may experience riots and disorder as the different races cannot live in harmony with each other. Racial harmony is also a great day to clear your misunderstandings about other races and to make friends! :)
Treasure friendships`
journal writing 2 --- MELody
i love all my best friends! i got so many i lost count... my best friends always encourage me when im in trouble. they make me feel so touched. i have lots of malay and chinese friends. indian friends, i have a few percentage of them. because, there are not many of them in our school. having best friends, that means that you have trusted friends.
Part 2:
1 character
2 circumstances
3 age
4 gender
5 Race
1 Character:
character is just almost the same as attitudes. if you have the right character, show it off! charcter is important. if you have good character, many people will trust you.
2 Circumstances:
Second most important are: classmates, groupmate and cca-mate. it's natural that you will eventually be friends with them right? we need them to work together, as a group. this is called team. Losers rely on luck. Winners rely on skill.
Together
Everyone
Achieves
3 Age:
it's best that we communicate with people of nearly the same age as us. because, we can understand one another this way. but still, people of older age (like our parents) than us usually nag at us, scold us. its for our own good. they are more experience than us and they can give us advice on what we do.
4 Gender:
there are males, females and some mix. whoever they are, they are still people right? it doesn't matter. we can still have friends of different genders. being friends with different genders can be fun.
5 Race:
hey, race also does not even matter. no matter what, we are still humans. different races makes the whole world colourful!
Part 3:
racial harmony... hmmm... we can learn about different cultures, traditions and stuff. i'm now currently learning malay language from my malay friends. HAHA. its fun. i also teach them chinese at the same time. :) i'm anti-racist!!!! without racial harmony, riots will occur. no one will live in peace man... :P
Journal Writing 2 - Koh Hwee Bin
Part 1:
I have a best friend who I know when I’m primary 6 in exact should be primary 4 because we were in the same tuition back then but we did not chat. Only until primary 6 we started to chat. She is the race as me, Chinese. Now both of us were in different school but we will still meet up once we are free. To me she is my best friends, the both of us will always chat until we have nothing to chat and in the end we still have to chat about what topic should we chat!!! :D So to me I think that best friends should be like this chat until we have nothing to chat!!!
Part 2:
Character:
People always will prefer to have friends who have good character or almost the same character as you. No one will prefer to have a friend who always quarrels with you only if we know that person very well. If your friends have a character which he or she will become moody very easily and then scold people for nothing I may not be able to withstand that kind of character but if it was only sometime I thinks it’s alright.
Circumstances:
Classmate, group-mate or CCA-mate can be a good helper of yours as there will be people who can help or support you when you are in trouble. And all this could also be important to have a good friendship.
Age:
If the age between our friend and us is too big we might not be able to communicate too well. But if the both of us try to have the minds of the others we will be able to communicate. So age really can make a different in communicate with ours friends.
Gender:
I think that it’s actually nothing too much. Is just that what the boys are thinking is very different from girls. Other than that I can’t think of anything.
Race:
It’s actually nothing matter so I think race is not a problem.
Part 3
Yep. Racial harmony has served its purpose. All people know more about others races traditional.

I do not have a best friend neither did I regard anyone as my best friend. I treat all my friends equally. My friends are from all races and religion. I do not think "ee.. you not chinese. I don't want to be your friend". I feel that this thinking is very childish. It is like in primary school that we say all these. The skin colour does not matter. Your skin may be any colour but I look at the person's personality. I think that it is the heart that matters!
Part Two
1. Character
2. Circumstances
3. Age
4. Gender
5. Race
Character
I feel that the character is the most important. If a person's character does not go well with me, I do not feel comfortable talking or working with that person. I will feel quite irritated in fact! A person must have a good character in order to work well with his/her team mates. If someone points out a point that needs improvement, we should try to change and not be stubborn.
Circumstances
In sports, it is important to have sportsmanship. If we do not have sportsmanship, team mates will feel rather difficult to work with us. If we do not have team work in games like netball, I would not be able to play properly. That is why the coaches always shout for us to communicate with each other during games. If not we will all run the same place and it would be very messy. This will not help in the game. It is the same in school and everywhere else. If we need help we can always turn to a friend!
Age
Image a person older than you by maybe 10 to 20 years. Would you be able to communicate well with them? I don't think so. They would most probably misunderstand what we want to do.
Because of this age gap, it is difficult for us to commmunicate well. Nowadays, students usually talk about some popstars and singers. But in the past for the adults, they do not talk about the same topic like us. There are bound to have somethings that we do not understand about each other.
Gender
Be it male or female. I do not mind. As long as I can work well with them. It is okay to sit around and talk to a guy. When we were young, rumours will pass round if we start to sit and talk to a guy. This never happen to me before because I'm from a girls school.
Race
No matter what colour each and every person's skin colour is, it is important that we do not think that it is because of their skin colour that we do not want to work with them. It is rather insulting if a person finds out that you do not want to work with them because of their skin colour. Race is not a problem!
Part Three
YES! Racial harmony day has definitely served its purpose. I got to know more about other races' traditional costumes and food. I learnt alot during racial harmony every year. It would be better if we could learn about the traditional games that different races play. Hope this would be part of it next year.
Journal Writing 2- Sherilyn Pua
Who are your best friend in life?
Well, I do have a best friend, a friend that I could not afford to lose. I knew her since primary four, and we are best friend till now. Close enough? We are in the same secondary school, but different class, though we do not meet each other often, but we could really chat for a long time once we started. It's hard to get a friend like that though, that you could chat everything, and you would not be afraid that she would say it out. We share lots of secret together too. But now, if you ask me do I have anymore best friend other than her, I afraid that I could not answer. I do have close friends, but not until the extend of best friend. Somehow or rather, I find that once we are in secondary school, best friend seems hard to find now. Might be it's because the time we spend together is really lesser than we do in primary school and we came from different background too. Everyone seems to have their own things and till now, I believe that those close friends we have, we don't really trust them lots, sometimes we have things to say,we still have to think thrice. But no matter what, friends are hard to come, and best friends are hard to find, but, we must still treasure the fate between us. Though we are not close or we were just an aquantaince, a smile or a hello would make us closer too. Races does not mean anything, as long as we live in the same world and place, we are a one.
Part Two
- Character
- Circumstances
- Age
- Gender
- Race
I think Character would be the first thing I would notice when choosing a friend, what for choosing a friend who is self-centered and only care about themselves. A friend who will say out every secret you told them, a friend that would backstab you behind your back, a friend who would say to other friends how bad you are when you were not. If I have a friend like this, I rather be dead. Or my eyes need to go for a check up. To me, character is very important, without a good character, I don't think they will help you, or instead they will harm you. So if you are my friends, it means that you have a good character! =)
Circumstances is the second important, especially in secondary school, where most of our time invovles in school project, cca and in classroom. If we have close friends that are in the same class as us, it would be really easier for us to keep in contact. If we were from different class, we would really need to find time to keep in contact. So, circumstances is quite important too.
Age, over 30 years old, there would surely a generation gap. Like our parents, they thinking would be different from us, so having a friend that is 30 year old is really quite difficult to communciate. Having friends around our age would be easier to communicate and hang around too, as our thinking would be almost the same.
Gender, well girl or boy, we are still human, and human needs friends, as long as we could communicate well with one another, what's wrong having an opposite gender as a close or best friend? So I don't think it's a weird or strange scence having an opposite gender sitting beside and chatting
Race, haha, it's doesn't matter at all please. What really different is the skin colour and our tradition, the rest, I think it's all the same yeah? So it's doesn't matter at all.
Part 3
Racial harmony of course serve it's purpose. It teaches us what's the meaning of racial and harmony. It tells us not to be racist and stay in harmony, which would benefits the world yeah?! haha!

Journal Writing 2 - Chong Thiew Hiao x)
Part One
- Who are your best friends in life?
tend to say out the words like"don't friend you liao, you are not my best friend anymore". Agreed? But at that time, we do not really know who is your best friend, and who is your friend.
During primary school, i often write in my journal that i have a lot of best friends and i could really named a lot of them till the page is full and often when i got to write a Friends Corner Page, i could too named a lot of them and also put them into good friend, bad friend, etc. But when i reach secondary school life, i find that it is really a tough question to answer and sometimes, it is quite sad that people have friends, you don't. However, i hope my best friend is going to appear sooner or later.
Don't worry! I do not have best friends, but i had a lot of good friends. We all come from different races and we got along with each other quite well. Sometimes, we also share the same interests and hobbies. Although we come from different races, we are still able to stay together and at the same time, have fun and laughter. I think is rather fun to have a friend that is different race with you, as both of you could have endless topics to chat about, and you would not feel bored. No matter what, you don't judge your friends according to their races, do you? i hope not. I think it is alright that we do not have best friend at this time, as we still have other good friends that will accompany us throughout our life.
Part Two
i believe that majority of people would rank this first as i really think that character matters a lot, consist both the inner and outer side of a person. Would you like to be with someone that is a kind, caring and helpful person or would u rather to be with a bad,not honest and naughty person?
For me, i would chose the first one. I think that is rather difficult to work with somebody with a bad attitude and lazy person. You would want to trust the person instead of suspecting the person. Am i right to say that? I strongly agree that CHARACTER is the most important factor on the important in our friendship.
2.age
Sometimes, it is rather hard to communicate with somebody older than you, as different age group of people would have different thinking and ideas. It is rather difficult to understand the person who is smaller or bigger than you when you come to certain types of topics,i.e. Love, studies. It is much more easier to communicate with somebody who is the same age as you as because there isn't much gap between you two. I believed that if you were to choose to talk to a 30 years old man or a boy at the age of 14,15 years old, you would rather choose the second option as he is closer to your age. It depends.
3.circumstances
classmates, teammates, schoolmates are all helpers in your life. You all must be united as a group to achieve good result. We need teamwork for projects, we need classmates when we need help in school work and for schoolmates, we may need help in the future. We need them for many reasons, and so this is important too.
4.race
NO racist please. Sometimes, we like to crack about racist jokes but to me, it is just a form of entertainment. We should not hates the other races instead we should love each other. You would never know one day that your best friend turns up to be a different race with you, so don't make a assumption that race is important or we should not have friends from other races. We must learn from each other, if we don't understand, we used our mouth to ask.
5.gender
Gender? male or female? i understand that when we are young, we don't dare to touch the opposite gender's hands, hair or shoulder because we thought that people will misunderstood and rumors would be passing around. It did happened to me before, but no worries, we are all grown-up teenagers and we all know what is gender all about. So, it is okay to see a boy and a girl to sit together and chit chat. Don't worry about that.! You will soon get over it.
gender is not really that important to me.
Part Three
Do you think Racial Harmony Day has served its purpose?
i believed that every festival served its own purposes. It is just that different people have different thinking and we look at things at different angles.
Many people would think that it is a stupid day, waste their time but for other people, they think that this is a meaningful day that every different races come together and celebrate the day. The day that we could exchange things that we do not have in our races, there is no harm to learn a new language, try a new food.
It is a day where every different races come together and share things together.
i had fun during Racial harmony day, do you?
everybody! be happy!
have a nice weekend!

Journal Writing 2 - Ng WeiLin=)
I do not know who is my best friend, seriously. i had never thought of this before. I just let my life go on and on. We do not have to like classify friends into Best Friend category, Good Friend Category, Bad Friend Category etc. As long as our friends treat each other well, who cares whether you are my best friend or not. Everyone is equal.
I have Malay and Chinese friends. I have no Indian friend. Not that I’m racist. I just do not have any Indian classmates. It does not matter what colour is your skin. No discrimination. It is your heart. Is your heart black?
Part 2
1 character
2 circumstances
3 age
4 gender
5 Race
1 Character
I think character is the most important factor as no one would want to befriend someone who cannot be trusted, who have attitude problems which everyone hates it, a troublemaker who always get you into trouble, who always take away your credits.
2 Circumstances
Classmates, group mates and cca-mates. Although we must learn to be independents, we still need friends for support, classmates to help you with your work, cca-mates to correct you for things you did wrong during your cca, you also need them for teamwork. For example, basketball and netball, no teamwork, you might as well don't play.
Group mates, in order to do produce a perfect, nice work, we need these group mates to suggest some ideas, and put your heads in and discuss. United we stand, Divided we fall.
3 Age
You can't really communicate with adults who are about 30 years old or over. It is best to have friends who are around the age as you. It is easier to communicate with. They think what you are thinking.
4 Gender
Males and females. There's something the male cannot share with the female except married couple. In fact, some married couples still cannot share some personal things with each other. If we do not talk about these things. We can just communicate with each other. There is no problem at all.
5 Race
As I had said earlier on, it doesn't matter what your skin colour is. We may be from different religion, but that's does not matter. We have to respect people's religion. Does not mean that you believe in the god of your religion, everyone must also believe in the god of your religion. Everyone have the rights which god they believe in. Respect each other's freedom of religion.
Part 3
Yes. I think Racial Harmony Day had served its purpose.
We get to learn more as in the traditional culture of different races, the delicacies they eat, the differences of the clothes such as Chinese wear Qi Pao and Malay wear Baju Kurong.
We also get to know about each other's religion. Example, the Muslims cannot eat pork and the Buddhist cannot eat Beef.
Journal Writing 2-Soh Rui Yi [=
Who is my best friend in my life? Is like, all those who are close to me, we have either lost contact or left. Maybe they even forget that there is someone called Ruiyi in this world. So actually I don't really have a best friend in my life. Although I put ******** in my blog, I think that is already the past. Now I don't have a best friend in my life.
Although I don't have a best friend, I obviously have friends. Friends of different age, races, gender. But I have friends that really care about me which I am very grateful towards them.
I may not have best friends, but I'm sure that I am able to find them one day (: But I am content that I have friends that care about me. And found someone who is more than best friend to me. Just like brother.
Part two:
1. Character
To me, character is the most important. If the person does not have a good character, what for I make friends with them? Is like some friends just want to be with you because they will benefit. If you didn't give them any benefits, what will they do? Ignore you? Say bad things about you? Tell them a secret, they backstab u? So to me, a friend must be someone who have a good character and of course must be honest.

2. Circumstances
Classmates, teammates, schoolmates are all helpers in your life. As long as we are united as a group, we are able to achieve good result. We need teamwork for projects, we need classmates when we need help in school work. But still, we must not be too dependant towards our friends.
3. Age
To me, I get although pretty well with people of different ages, but I find that it is the best to find friends that is around the age of yours. So that it is much more easier to communicate [=
4. Races
I am totally not a racist person. I mix with people of different races, religion. As long as we get along with each other well, they is no reason why I should not mix with them. I, a Singaporean live in a multi racial country. Just respect one another race and religion. Peace in the country (:
5. Gender
I don't care if he is a guy or she is a girl. I just mix with them. I don't mind telling you all. I get along with guys much more better than girls. * no offences. Although rumors always occur to me. I don't mind that doesn't stop me from being friends with guys (:
Part 3:
Racial Harmony served its purpose. To me, racial harmony is not the day to eat different races food, know about their culture. Although it is important, but I still think that racial harmony is a day where different races come together. Not only Racial Harmony day, but everyday. (:

Journal writing 1 -Daniel
Lending Money to someone also has to have a reason why the person wants to borrow money from you. If someone really needs the money and I will definitely lend him the money. Who would want to see their friend suffer when they can do something about it?
Lending money to a friend means that you trust a friend and He/She would return it on time since he /she is your friend. So far all my friends have return me the money I lend to them expect Gary who stills own me $5 since February.
So I would still lend my friends money if they need it.
Journal Writing 2 - Abel Goh
okok, who are my best friends? I don't really know.... it's just basically friends, perhaps i still need more time to know my friends.... Those I trust either left or either lost contact and i think they had long forgotten about this 'abel'.... Those 'best friends' i had( wonder if i really have or not) simply wanted ur accompany for their own sake , they wanted entertainment , they demand for it, they will always crictise you , making u feel bad and outcasted....
shuts.... should be talking about best friends right? hahhaa... Since i have none, will just say about friends then.... My friends are around me... my classmates, schoolmates , church friends.... teachers almost everyone that i have contact with. They're all either chinese or malay. Hmmm, the question asks why... how i know??? does race matters ? I don't think we should choose our friends judging by the race.
I don't know... sometimes i thought to myself, wads the difference between 'best friend' and 'friend' . The main difference is one contains the word 'best'. Meaning you like that friend around you, the person that you wana share your joy and problems with. They are people you think you can trust the most.
Maybe i do really have best friends, i think it's just that i did not went deeper into the friendship.
Here comes the part 2!
1.Character
I think this is the most important among the 5. Who will want to have a good for nothing friend? someone who make use of you? Always claiming other people's credit, pushing blame to other ppl. Err, i dont mean ' SAY NO TO BAD FRENS! SAY NO!' ... Our friendships should have a balance mix of both the good frens and the bad frens.....why is this so?
Friends with bad character played quite an important role in our lives. They will cause trouble in your life, adding interesting chapters into your life. We will be able to cope with the different types of problems next time in the future as we had experiences like these before and we will be able to solve problems caused by them.
Friends with good character helps us all the time. They let us know that there will always be someone behind giving support, they help you out when you fell. They also add wonderful chapters into our lives, happy memories. and all the good stuffs...
Saying all these, i have to make a clear statement, no friend in the world is bad. rmb tt.
2. Circumstances
Second most important....classmates,groupmate and cca-mate... Why do i have to befriend a person in clz? grp? in cca? Why? It's important as we need friends to work with , like in class, a group or in cca... we need friends, colleauges* ( donoe the spelling) ... without making friends... we'll have a hard time ... left out, alone... nobody to work with.....[ i don't really know what to write, sry]
3.Age
It's best to befriend with people with age same as you because they are in the same generation as you, they know what you are going through, while those older or younger don't, due to the generation gap and mind perspectives.
4.Gender
It's not very important as the others coz the main thing is friend, guy or girl doesn't matters... though both sexes can give u different types of support.
Girls- They will always listen to you, offer help, cheer for you while...
Guys- Morale support, they give you support differently from the girls, they don't really cheer, but crictise you abit to motivate you to do even harder...
that's what i think....
Lastly,5. Race.
As mentioned before, RACE DOES NOT MATTER! Friendship can be found in any race, its not a must for a chinese to befriend a chinese... Sometimes, friends different from your race can even give you more motivation....
ALL THIS 5POINTS i did not describe it very detailed.
Part 3! finally i can sleep after doing this.
Yes, i think Racial Harmony served its purpose. The event in school helped us learn more about different food from different races.... i can see that alot of people were happy on that day... tts all i gotta say? hahaha, sry for not giving a detailed post.
allrites! I'm done! woots.
Comments for Topic 1
Hello 2e2!
Glad to see the majority of you taking the interest to blog! As for those who have yet posted, I'm still waiting!
I know this blogging activity is a new thing for many of you, and some may be cursing me for it (I've been sneezing more than usual these days), I do hope that you would be open-minded and cast away your displeasure and unwillingness to write your journals this way. We will never grow if we refuse to move out of our comfort zone. People reading this, do encourage your friends to post!
For those who posted, well done! I can see that all of you put in the effort in writing. No more half-hearted journals :)Alright I'm going to share a little about myself with regard to the topic. If you read my other class' blog, you'll be reading the same thing. :p
I had a number of bad experiences with regard to lending money to a friend. Not once, not twice, but trice. I guess it doesn't stop at "once bitten twice shy"!
The first one was to an ahem...ex-boyfriend. He was into illegal betting, and he lost a few thousand dollars! Driven to desperation, he decided that the only place he could go to is the loan shark's. Boys and girls let me tell you now that going to the loan shark's is the most foolish thing one can do! No matter how desperate you are, DO NOT borrow money from them. They charge ridiculous interest that you will never be able to repay since you are in need of money in the first place. Anyway let me go back to the story. As he was my friend, I didn't like to see him live in fear everyday, thinking of how he could escape payment from the loan sharks. So I lend him money. Were there any considerations made? Of course! But our relationship overrode everything. Furthermore, I thought since we are going to see each other probably for the rest of our lives, it was alright to lend him. He could take his time to return me the money. Better than fear getting chopped up by the thugs. Well well, I was sure naive. BGRs don't last forever! A few years later, we decided not to see each other anymore because of some differences we couldn't resolve. But the money that he owed me complicated everything. As much as we wanted not to have anything to do with each other, we had to keep in contact because of this sum of money. I think he didn't feel proud to owe a girl money. That became a good thing as eventually he managed to repay me the full sum. I think I was very fortunate.
For the next 2 cases, it was less easy. They were not very close friends of mine, but for some reasons, I agreed to lend them (at different times). I guess I was just silly and too soft-hearted. After lending them, they disappeared for a while. Couldn't get them on the phone most of the times. At times when I do get to them, they gave silly excuses which were in no way verifiable, eg. Grandmother in hospital, family problems, bla bla...I thought it was a gone case. It was so exasperating! But I thank God that I had help from other people who know them, they helped me contact them and chased them. Finally after a long time, I managed to get my money back. *Phew*
After all this drama, I decided to be more prudent with my money. I simply cannot be blind anymore! Third time lucky is indeed lucky. There won't be a fourth time.
Does that mean that I will never lend anyone money now? No. I still believe that we should help people whenever we can. But we really have to be wise about it. After all these experiences, I've concluded that if I ever decide to lend again, I would have to be prepared not to get the money back.
That's all for now! Do feel free to give comments to any posts here! :)
Love,
Ms Goh

Racial Harmony Day
Racial Harmony Day celebration has just passed. I'm sure your class had fun working together for this event, coming to school dressed in pretty clothes or watching other people looking handsome/pretty dressed up in clothes other than the boring uniform. Maybe some of you had your hearts miss a beat when you see your crush *gasp* looking like an angel / prince! :p
This week's topic is on your view on friendship. Take a moment to reflect and think thoroughly before you write. There are 3 parts, so do be sure you answer all!
Part One
- Who are your best friends in life?
- Are they of the same race as you?
- If they are, why so?
Rank the following factors on their importance in your friendship with a person. 1 being most important, 5 being least important. After each choice, give a brief explanation of how the factor is important.
- gender
- age
- race
- character
- circumstances (eg. classmate, groupmate, cca-mate)
Do you think Racial Harmony Day has served its purpose?
Remember to put 'Journal Writing 2 - (your full name)' as your title!

Journal Writing 1- Norlyana bte Rokman. (:
The advantages towards this is that we will be able to help our friends when they are in need of cash. We might also be saving them from bankcruptcy. With the help of us, they might be able to pay off their debts and we will definitely feel better that we are helping someone who is in need.
There is also no doubt that disadvantages arise from helping those in need.
The people we lend money to may take advantage of our kindness. They might take us for granted and they will always ask for money even when they have money. They will not pay us back and we will end up at the losing end as it will get harder and harder to say no each time they ask.
So, the question of wheather we should lend or not is still open to individual opinion. But as for me, I'd rather not unless I know for sure that they really need the help. (:

Pros - Just helping a little may change part of a friend's life. For example, if a friend is weak in a certain subject, and you just simply help a little by tutoring her or whatsoever, she will have better grades and may even go to a better class next year. Equals to, better future. And most importantly, we can see our friend happy and smile.
Cons - We may be taken advantage of. For example, a friend always claim that he/she dont have money and always borrows it from you. And one day, when you need a sum of money urgently and wants it back from him/her and he/she doesnt wana return. What will happen to you if you cant get that sum of money. You lend a helping hand to others but others may not lend you theirs when you need it. And i guess thats the selfish side of a person.
Thats all. Goodbye.

"Should you lend to a Friend?"
[Sorry for the late post]
If it was me I would try as much as possible to avoid lending money to friends. This is because I want to try to avoid misunderstandings. But if I want to lend money I would change my mindset to treating my friends. For quite an amount of money I totally have to make them take it as a loan.
I' m not an ATM machine which only service for withdrawal and not deposit. OR I'll become Bangkrupt!!! But overall, I think that whatever is taken from Person A has to be return by the borrower, then, its fair to all parties, don't you think so?
Toodles,
i have totally nth to say.
Journal Writing 1 - Joey
If we talk about minor things, I would lend it to them. I wouldn't lend my stuff to them unless they ask it from me. Because I feel that it is rude if you don't ask for permission to take someone's belonging. Sometimes friends ask to borrow them things that they might not have, it's best to lend it to them. Best to help them. If you mention about personal items such as handphones and stuff, I wouldn't really trust the person even if he/she is my best friend. I feel that it's my personal stuff that I don't wish other people to use my personal stuff. Another thing is, if my friend needs help in some problem he/she is having, I would try to help without a second thought. The reason is because if I can help in things that I am capable of handling, I would do my best to solve my friend's problem. For example, if my friend has difficulties in his/her studies, I would try to teach him/her to do that sum.
There are always pros and cons for things and matters. Same goes to this. The bad example to lend it to a friend is because they might not return it to you! An example, you lend your friend a sum of money he/she said that they needed it and they don't return the money to you. That's the bad point of lending 'things' to your friend. I haven't got to know of this type of people but I hope people don't misuse your friends by taking advantage of their kindness.
If there's a need that I have to lend my friend the things that she need, I must have my total trust in her that she won't lose it and she will return me the next day. I will only lend to people I am close to and those are the people who I trusted the MOST!
I think it's long enough luh. You people WRITE SO DAMN LONG!
I hope mine's enough!
Journal Writing 1 - Alif Husaini
Well, lending money to someone whom you trust or so called friend, is not a problem at all. To me, it is just a small, minor thing. It is not wrong to lend money to someone whom you trust especially he/she really needs it. He/she could pay it back in no time. In my opinion, lending something to someone is a very kind act. We need to give our helping hand wherever someone needs them. We must be generous, but not stingy. People will look upon us as kind and generous people if we at least do the best we can do and help them as much as we can. Lending money to someone is a very easy thing. This act could make people smile and build/gain trust with each other. Every people in this people surely are not alone from hardships and difficulties and they must definitely give a helping hand to each other when in need.
However, lending money money to a friend can be a big problem too. He/she could take granted/advantaged of you when you lend money to him/she too much. He/she could ask for more and more money from you. This could led to a row. This could break up the relationship between the two person. Not only that, this could led to a row and distrust begins to grow over the two person. He/she could be pain in the neck when the time comes. He/she could owe you more and more money when he/she did not repay you the debt he/she had borrowed from you.
So lesson learnt, lending money to a friend has it's advantages and disadvantages too. We must always know where to draw the line and its limitations. We should know when is the right time to lend money to a friend so our relationship with the person will not be affected.
PS: I did my Journal Writing 1 a day late. But at least I did it. Sorry! =)

Writing Journal 1- esTEHr
It all depends on the situation/item/duration/permission/person. Most of the times, we will ask our friend who is borrowing something these few questions. Why do you need it? Which one do you want? ( If you have two or more of it) How long are do you intend to borrow it? Sometimes we would tell the person "I need to ask my parent first." Of course, before lending it to a friend, you would ask yourself whether the person is trustworthy enough? Would he/she return it in time before you need it? Likewise, if he/she who you are lending to you is close to you and you know him/her very well this questions don't really matter to you.
( Point of information: there are a few factors you come across while upon deciding to lend or not)
We should always lend a helping hand to someone who truly needs it for right motives and purposes. Though sometimes we might feel a little poorer or as if your lifestyle has changed when you lend it to someone however do always bear in mind that the person lifestyle is much better now that you have lent it to him/her! Cheer up dull boy, it's only for awhile. However, there are cons to, if you lend it, would there be a negative impact towards you? I truely believe that you should never lend out more than you can afford to lose.
(Point of information: Pros and cons of lending )
Many of us are old and matured enough to know what is right and wrong. By lending, you are trusting that person to return, take care and use it well. Misusing, not returning and damaging is a big No-No.
In my opinion, we should lend and feel proud and contented that we have helped a friend :) And if we really can't lend due to some reasons then just let your friend know, and also as the friend who is lending, we should understand and accept it.

I will start on the negative part first. But sometimes, you may find that your friend might be just using you. When you mix with a company of bad friends, they will tend to ask you to help them on some bad things that will lead you into trouble. Like for example, if your "bad" company of friends wants you to help them steal things, it is also a form of "helping" them but this will lead you into deep trouble if you are caught stealing. Sometimes, you friends take you for granted and always repeatedly ask you to help them. They use you to help them do things but they say that this is called "helping" them. We should know this clearly ourselves, whether we are helping them, or being used by them.
There is also a positive part about lending to a friend. When your friends have difficultities or they are in trouble whatsoever, this would be a right time to lend your helping hand to them. For example, if your friends are weak in a particular subject and you know that you can help, you should try your best in helping your friend by tutoring or something that can help him or her. This would be the best thing you could do for your friend too. This can also mean being helpful to your friends! This is a kind act of generiosity and you should be proud of it too. And this is not being used by your friends, but helping your friends who are in need of help!
Long enough? Cannot think already :D

Firstly, the kind of friends you have is an issue. Do you know the friends very well or just well or just met him/her? Do you know his/her character and what kind of person he/she was? If you know them well,I think you can trust them and you may proceed to next step or else, one answer-no lending.
Being kind and generous is a good moral value to have, but on the other side, being kind and generous will end up being used by friends of bad company. If you are in with a bad company, and then they ask you to shoplift something for them and they say that this is a kind of way to helping people too,but in the end,you will get into trouble because of them. The other bad thing is that for example,a friend always like to ask you for money and always give reasons like family poor and no money for repair or mum grounded him/her and no pocket money for a week and always kept asking you for money. And after for some days,it became a bad habit and they will just automatically ask you for money again and again.BUT...
this friend whom you always lend money to..never pays back your money.. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? So,you now realised that you are being used by this friend as a money tree, but how do you tell him/her?
Ahas..you are stuck in that situation right? So the perfect solution for this is never to start lending money until you got the real reasons and be sure that he/she will pay you back the money before asking you for money again.
Next, you must have a sense of alert. Don't end up being push around by your friends or being treat like an ATM machine..haha..and withdraw money from you frequently.Be wise when choosing a friend. If he/she really needs your help,of course, definitely I will 100% help my friend. But if he/she kept on thinking that i will help him/her forever, making use of my kindness and generousity, sorry to tell say that: forget about your dream,i will never make that happen. wake up!!
yeah..and just be wise when choosing a friend and always know your limits. When it's time to stop lending help to a friend, you should stop. But for good friends, you can just 100% trust him/her as you know that she won't make use of you to gain what she/he wants..
yup..and i guess it's alreadi exceeding 200 words right? i believe so.. and i shall end here now..goodbye :D

............................................................................holds a risk that you may be cheated by your friend. You must be confident that the person...................................................................................who is borrowing money from you is trustable.................................................................................... also, you need to see if the amount your friend is borrowing is too much, or exceeds what .......................................................................
......................... you have, then just lend him/her what you think would be enough. If he/she says that he/she is going to buy food but does not have money and wants.................................to borrow $20 from you, i think that it is too much and you should lend him lesser money. ..............................................................................
.......................................on the other hand if you say no or reject his/her request, i think, it would be okay because if he/she is your friend, he/she surely would not mind and approach other people but if he/she minds, you probably would not have this friend anymore. For me, i think that the best solution if you are lending he/she ................................................................................................................................................
lend the amount you think is right or appropriate for what he needs to use the money for.

i have a question.
Why do we write on blogs if we are writing a personal journal? lol

There are also situations that i will agree to lend my friend something. That is, if i have extras or rather those which i do not need so much. Helping others is important but you need to see how much u trust them and if u lend it to someone, so be it. There's no point arguing about lending or not when your friend needs it very much, u have extras but you didn't want to lend it to him/her. Helping others is nice, helping friends are nicer as you could know your friend more and about her background.
Take my friend as an example. In primary school, I once had a friend which always has a lack of money. Every time when recess time, she ate very less as she did not have enough money to eat. During recess every time, I would lend her 50cents or so to let her have enough to eat. we are sort of best friends then. I trusted her a lot as i know that her mother is very strict with her and is quite poor. So, in return, she would either help me in my work or if she have some extra money from her mother, she would return some money to me. In the end, we ended up helping each other. Quite silly isn't it?
Helping friends can be both correct AND wrong in different situations. If you are helping a friend to steal or rob a bank(example). It's not correct as it is a common sense request. We should reject such request as the person who asked you to help is not a true friend to you.
Is this long enough and sensible? Hope so..

First, if somebody asks me to lend her things, like pen, textbook, and such, i will definitely lend them without hestitation. But, when she asks me to lend her workbook or worksheets for copying homework, i won't lend them, because when i lend them, i am not helping them, but to cause them into troubles. When the teacher is marking the work, she will notice that there is similarity between 2 person's homework, then you smell trouble.
So, if somebody asks me if i have money for her to use,
i will hestitate awhile to lend him or not.I have to see if i have the ability to lend her the money,
and if the person is trustworthy or not, and see what they use the money for.
If i don't have the money to lend her, what more can i say? i will feel a bit sorry for them and reject them. Then you have to see them walking out of your view in dismay. This will make them lose some trust in you. But if she is really your good friend, she will understand the situation and your feelings. Some may think you are really selfish, and starts to ignoring you the next few days questioning herself if that is what a good friend claims to be. I think this is just some childish and sensitive act from what you call a "good" friend.
If i have the money to lend her, i think i will, Because you want them to trust you more. But it depends what they use the money for. If they need it for bus fares, i think i will lend them. But, if they use it to buy useless stuffs, like " hey, can i borrow money from you because i wanna buy the latest BLAHH's CD!!!!!~~" Isn't it stupid to borrow people money to satisfy themselves? Those are the things they WANTS, not NEEDS. Or, if they use the money they borrowed from to do bad things, like buying parang knifes to murder people, what is the purpose of it?
So let's say, after you lent them and you need the money, it's time for you to get the money back. But, you will feel quite afraid to get back the money, they will think you are very "money face", get angry with you etc. And when we keep on reminding them to return the money, they will just pay back the money and start to avoid you. Problem comes. Now you gain back your money, but loses a friend.
But if the person is really too much, like demand and presses you to lend them money, i think you have the rights to not lend them money. Immediately sever ties with that fella. hah.
In conclusion, i think it is better to lend people a helping hand. You don't want bad karma do you? For me, i think what goes around comes around. If you help people, the next time you need help from friends, at least they will help you because they remembered you've helped them before.
END.
wow, i actually took 1hour and 45 minutes to finish this up.

An example is like, there is a guy who appeared to borrow money from you to buy something that is not needed. After he know that you will lend him money, he will always come to you for money.
Being a generous person is easy, however, there will always be a point when you are unable to help out and you will be said to be unhelpful. Some people tend to rely on people who are generous and they will take it as a will for you to lend he/her your things or money.
However, if you are generous, you will always be the most welcomed person among the rest who are not as generous. Being a welcomed person of course is good, but do you all think that it was easy to be a generous person?
Before lending things to a friend / stranger, there is a few points/risks to consider. If the person is a friend of yours, of course he/she will be more trustable than anyone that is a total stranger to you. Lending something valuable to others are strongly discouraged as he/she will make spoil of it accidentally and you will waste all of your money that you had accumulated for it.
For myself, I will lend my things/money only to my close friends. =)

As everyone agrees,by rejecting the person who wanted to lent from you,you may face a big risk of ending the relationship. Thus,at times,it may be difficult for us to decide if we want to lent the money out or not.So you may ask :SHOULD I LEND HER OR NOT?WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN HE/SHE DID NOT RETURN?AM I GOING TO ASK HER FOR THE MONEY?Having thought of that, you may hestitate. As people think that by asking someone back the money you lent,it is hard.I think likewise too. Therefore when I borrow my money to someone,I will ask him/her the reason. If he/she is really in need,I will definally lent the money. But for my character,I will not as he/she back the money until he/she is willing to pay back.As by doing this you will be able to find out if he/she can be trusted. If he/she did not pay,you should know what to do by then.
Not just that lenders should notice and think carefully before lending out your money.Borrowers should also know that they must return the money back to the person to avoid conflicts between friends.Even if your are really close friends,it is still adviseable to pay back the money you have borrowed.
Friends are certainly much more important than money.Friends who understand you are hard to come by,therefore we must always treasure our friendship.
GOOD BYE!:)

From the other posts, will lending to a friend help or not help your friend? For this, you have to look deeper into the situation.
It's very hard to make a decision whether to lend to your friend or not. If you do, your friend will natrually be more happy, but if you don't, he/she will ofcourse have some different attitude to you. This theory is very obvious.
I don't think it's a good idea to keep lending to a friend. The reason is, when you keep helping he/she whenever they're in deep shit or something, they will always remember that someone will help them, making them very dependant as mentioned earlier. By doing so, you are not letting your friend to overcome problems faced in their lifes by their own.
From what i've said, it doesn't mean don lend to your friend, it's ok to lend to a friend but YOU have to know the limits. Those people who are always helping the others will eventually turn into a servant , a maid , a person that is being pushed around .
This is because the more you lend to a friend, the demand for a help increased next time. And for those people who had very little friends and these friends of theirs are people who are very dependant ...... 'loathers' i labelled. Those people with had friends like 'loathers', they will keep on helping coz they do not want to lose a friend coz without a friend by yourside when you need help, that feeling is very saddening, very lonely, you will start to think that ' Why isn't there anyone there to help me? Why?'
You will start thinking that you're an outcast. So that's why they kept helping...
But there are friends out there worth helping for. They are your true friends. They will lend to you when you need , they will be there when you need.
All these do you all understand? hahahaa...but in the end, lending to a friend is a good thing, you never knew who will help you when you need.
Yes, i agree with those that had posted, depending on the type of the person, u need to think whether to lend to or not. If you trust this friend of yours, if there's a close friendship between you both, helping each other is not a problem, but helping a friend that u don't trust, will you?
Ah ya, type so much...finally finished.... hahaha, is this enough????

But if the person is someone whom i trust and the loan is not too much i may consider lending him the money . But if it is someone who I don't really know well ask me to lend them money i will not lend as i don't really know their character well they may denied to return back money to me and they will ask me to lend them money again and again and the sum getting bigger and bigger and they will take things as granted and even treat you as their ATM machine .
I once remember during my Primary 6 day , one of my classmates ask me to lend them money and I did as i thought she will return me the money but I was wrong . After a few days , I went to ask back my money but she denied and say that i accused her . I was angry and from that day onward i did not lend money to anyone again .
So when I lend someone money , I will not ask from them back my money until they remember to pay back or I will slowly forget .
Friends are hard to find especially someone who understand you . So don't ruin your friendship because of money . Treasure your friendship ! :p

But sometimes it doesn't mean that we got the money we must give them. This is because he/she may be using that money for a unnecessary case. But life is like that. Everyone tends to use money to buy some unnecessary things. Me too! So if we did not lend her money to these things, we may be kind of helping him/her to save money too.
Another thing we must consider is that whether that person can be trusted. If we lend the money to him/her and he/she just get away with the money without paying us, then we can only say that we are stupid. :P But if that person is your long years friend and you think you can trust her, then just lend it! Some people will also lend it on their own accord whether or not that person will return him/her back.
So, lending to a friend is a good and bad thing. We must always consider first! (:

But I would not lend to people who I already lend the money only if it’s for emergency then I will lend. I don’t think it’s good to keep lending the same person money as they have to solve their problem themselves but of course I will lend only a small amount of money as it’s hard to say no and I really don’t wish to see that person I trouble.
There’s a few time I reject my friend as she is just buying some unnecessary and this could also make your friend feel that we do not trust him or her. But I have a friend who told me not to lend money to her even if she ask me to lend as this could stop her from buying unnecessary item and she does not have the money to pay up.
It’s hard to borrow money from your friend and asking the money back. So sometime I will not ask the money back or I will just wait for the person to return me the money as time go by I will soon forget about it.
