Should you lend to a friend?
First, if somebody asks me to lend her things, like pen, textbook, and such, i will definitely lend them without hestitation. But, when she asks me to lend her workbook or worksheets for copying homework, i won't lend them, because when i lend them, i am not helping them, but to cause them into troubles. When the teacher is marking the work, she will notice that there is similarity between 2 person's homework, then you smell trouble.
So, if somebody asks me if i have money for her to use,
i will hestitate awhile to lend him or not.I have to see if i have the ability to lend her the money,
and if the person is trustworthy or not, and see what they use the money for.
If i don't have the money to lend her, what more can i say? i will feel a bit sorry for them and reject them. Then you have to see them walking out of your view in dismay. This will make them lose some trust in you. But if she is really your good friend, she will understand the situation and your feelings. Some may think you are really selfish, and starts to ignoring you the next few days questioning herself if that is what a good friend claims to be. I think this is just some childish and sensitive act from what you call a "good" friend.
If i have the money to lend her, i think i will, Because you want them to trust you more. But it depends what they use the money for. If they need it for bus fares, i think i will lend them. But, if they use it to buy useless stuffs, like " hey, can i borrow money from you because i wanna buy the latest BLAHH's CD!!!!!~~" Isn't it stupid to borrow people money to satisfy themselves? Those are the things they WANTS, not NEEDS. Or, if they use the money they borrowed from to do bad things, like buying parang knifes to murder people, what is the purpose of it?
So let's say, after you lent them and you need the money, it's time for you to get the money back. But, you will feel quite afraid to get back the money, they will think you are very "money face", get angry with you etc. And when we keep on reminding them to return the money, they will just pay back the money and start to avoid you. Problem comes. Now you gain back your money, but loses a friend.
But if the person is really too much, like demand and presses you to lend them money, i think you have the rights to not lend them money. Immediately sever ties with that fella. hah.
In conclusion, i think it is better to lend people a helping hand. You don't want bad karma do you? For me, i think what goes around comes around. If you help people, the next time you need help from friends, at least they will help you because they remembered you've helped them before.
END.
wow, i actually took 1hour and 45 minutes to finish this up.
