I think it depends whether or not we should lend money to our friends. If the needy friend needs the money urgently because of financial purposes, then I suppose it's best to lend. At least if the friend does not pay back, I do know I have done what I need to and maybe remind my friend to pay it back.
If my friend asks me for money for unnecessary purposes such as shopping, I will kindly reject. My friend should know for unecessary purposes, they should use their own money to spend, even if they are paying it back I should not lend my money as they will never learn to save money for such purposes. Even parents act on this decision. If my friend disagrees with my decision, then I should tell him/her why have I done so. Money is not so easy to find and I can decide on how I spend and to who I lend my money to, not my friend.
Lending money is sometimes needed as problems might pop up out of nowhere and we do need help from others, but we must also learn that we should not lend money all the time as it's a bad habit and we might make lenders feel very uncomfortable lending too much. We must also know how and when to pay back the money we borrowed as money does not appear from thin air. Thus, we must either save money from our allowance or work for it. Things might get very complicated if the money borrower cannot or refuse to pay back the money. This could result in frienship breaks, arguements and hatred.
